RYA Yachtmaster Theory Online with Zoom – Your Last Chance to Sign-Up

The RYA have recently announced that all sailing schools are to stop doing Zoom and online courses, and to return to just offering face to face teaching. This means that First Class Sailing will soon stop new sign-ups to our RYA Yachtmaster Theory online course, so you only have a few weeks in which to take advantage of our last ever Zoom sessions.

Our last ever RYA Yachtmaster theory online

The last date we have available will start on Thursday 7 September. If you want sign-up to what so many people believe to be the best online Yachtmaster Theory course, please click here.

Each weekly session runs on a Thursday evening, starting at 1800 through until 2100, and there are 8 sessions in total, followed by one complete weekend.

All materials are included, except for a set of plotters and dividers (many people have their own), and these will be sent by courier to you before the Zoom online course starts.

Online Yachtmaster Theory course reviews

We consistently rank as one of the best sailing schools in the UK for positive online reviews about our courses. Simply search for First Class Sailing on Google and you can see for yourself.

Here are some reviews we received for our RYA online Yachtmaster Theory course that were left during the pandemic period.

“I would recommend First Class sailing from the experiences I have had with them over the last year or so. First, I undertook my RYA Day Skipper Theory and just recently my RYA Yachtmaster Theory. In both cases the courses were delivered over ZOOM due to the current COVID pandemic. My instructors (Martin B and Andy B) for each course were excellent, very personable, and knowledgeable and delivered the courses very well. They were both available between classes to answer questions and made themselves available via ZOOM to go through topics with students outside of the class time so I don’t think we could have been better supported by them. The ZOOM format worked well for me, and each session was recorded so you could go back and re-watch to re-enforce learning which I found very helpful. It would have been nice to meet my fellow students and tutors in person but given the circumstances of lockdown this was not possible for the RYA DS Theory course and having this and the homework certainly kept me busy and occupied during lockdown.”

“The course was held over seven evening lectures plus three whole days on weekends. Because of Covid lockdown, the lectures were presented remotely with the therapeutic benefit of being able to meet with others, albeit remotely. The course was presented by an instructor examiner of vast experience including ocean racing, who gave examples of his experiences as they related to the course. Well done, First Class Sailing.”

“I’ve just completed my Yachtmaster theory course via Zoom with First Class Sailing. I couldn’t recommend the whole set up and format more highly, especially during the present lockdown. The course ran for around 8 weeks, one evening per week and one full weekend. There was even lots of enjoyable homework! The organisation was indeed first class, and our instructor Andy guided us expertly through all aspects of the RYA syllabus to give us an excellent and useable understanding of all the theoretical issues to pass the assessments and take a vessel safely on a sea voyage.”

How our online and Zoom based RYA Yachtmaster Theory works

Our Zoom course is very popular and really is not that different to being in a class with fellow students but instead from the comfort of your own home using the web-based conferencing software.

You can see, interact with, and ask questions of the instructor, see your fellow students, see the whiteboard and any slides the instructor shows.
