Karen Higginson, the newest team member, is not new to sailboats – she has been in the marine industry for over thirty years. Since 1987 she was the Associate Editor for 48° North Sailing Magazine and that’s where she learned to sail. She started racing on a J/35 and her first big race was Swiftsure just two months later. She has also raced Puget Sound races onboard a Santa Cruz 50, and then a Barnett 47, where she experienced her first Oregon Offshore. She and her husband, Kip, have cruised the San Juan Islands and have led group charters to the Leeward Islands and the Windwards Islands in the Caribbean, the Kingdom of Tonga, and the Whitsunday Islands in Australia (best holiday ever!).

Karen will be handling the Sales & Marketing for Signature Yachts.

Karen and her husband have two children, Ruby and Kip JD. Together they like to travel, hike, and just being together. They are animal lovers and have three dogs, two cats, two sugar gliders, and Kidd, the yellow-named amazon parrot. Karen graduated from the University of Washington – Go Dawgs!
