The First 27 was crafted by naval architect Sam Manuard specifically for offshore racing, drawing on his personal racing expertise. Its design includes a hard chine extending to the stem, vertical sides, a broad waterline beam, and twin rudders—all hallmarks of a rugged, competitive vessel. The hull shape, carbon rig, and deep draft lead keel work together to deliver exceptional stability. Notably, the keel accounts for half of the boat’s total weight, contributing to impressive power and performance. The cockpit is both spacious and comfortable, featuring two full-length foot chocks. Additionally, a manually operated hydraulic jack for keel lifting makes the First 27 easy to tow.
