We are often asked whether it’s possible to take RYA Day Skipper Theory and Practical combined. In effect, a fast track version of Day Skipper. The simple is, yes, we can.
If you have browsed our list of RYA courses, you won’t see it a Day Skipper Fast Track (Theory and Practical combined) course, as it’s a bespoke option that we build around a schedule to suit the client.
For example, let’s say you want to complete a path of RYA courses inside of one month. If we have the availability to suit you, then there’s no reason why we can put a schedule of courses together for you to complete one after another.
That means you could take Day Skipper Theory and then Practical, as a combined two into just one schedule. The practical element of the course is designed for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills. During the theory course you will learn how to navigate.
In order to complete the RYA Day Skipper fast track, you will need to have completed Competent Crew, or be able to sail to the same standard. We will also want you to have sailed for 5 days, 100 miles, and 4 night hours. If you haven’t done this, we can add Competent Crew to the start of the schedule, then a couple of weekends sailing, potentially with a France Channel hop, which will fast track you through to Day Skipper.
