Beneteau’s Take on the Fast Trawler: Swift Trawler

Posted by on May 22, 2015 in Boating News | 0 comments

All Swift Trawlers powered by Beneteau feature a long list of superior qualities. But it’s the speed, comfort, stability and fuel efficiency working in perfect harmony which is the real secret behind Beneteau’s fast trawler series. It’s what makes the trawler truly transformed.

SWIFT SPEED

The Swift Trawler features the speed other trawlers might brag about, but with a style and efficiency that could only come from Beneteau. The sleek, semi-planing hull designed to cut through the waves with a minimal resistance is in perfect union with the Swift Trawler’s robust engine, allowing it to deliver maximum performance.

Built for speed. Designed to slow you down.
Speed. Isn’t that the point of owning a fast trawler? Other trawlers may deliver that speed through shear brute force, but a Swift Trawler achieves its pace though the perfect marriage of brains and brawn. The end result is speed that’s a joy and oh so easy to live with.

The hull
The Swift Trawler’s tight, responsive semi-planing hull designed by Joubert & Nivelt can knife through just about any swell and has a turning radius more akin to a speed boat than a trawler. Just open the throttle and the Swift Trawler comes alive.

Oceanis 55 Wins Best Sailboat in Show Award in Vancouver

Pacific Yachting has awarded its first annual Best In Show honors to three products displayed at the recent Vancouver International Boat Show.

The three award categories are: Best in Show: Powerboat, Best in Show: Sailboat and Best in Show: Equipment. Judges Roger McAfee, Zuzana Prochazka and Dale Miller scoured both the floating show at Granville Island and the main show at BC Place for the best of the best in boating “stuff” and found three worthy winners to take home the inaugural trophies.

In the sailboat category, the Beneteau Oceanis 55 took top honors, “thanks to its well thought out interior and its innovative modular design. It was really an impressive boat on the dock. There were other boats that impressed, but it was hard to top this 55-footer,” said Dale Miller.

From Sky to Sea to Shining Sea: Meet Ron Coalson

From Sky to Sea to Shining Sea: Meet Ron Coalson

Prior to moving aboard a boat, Ron Coalson was the president of a company in North Dakota and lived in a giant house. One day, he realized that he and his wife were owned by their possessions. They started giving things away and every year they would go to the Annapolis Boat Show, until they found their 44. “We started living aboard and we both loved it.”

Soon enough, they wanted something faster in the 45ft range. At the time, Ferenc Máté’s book, The World’s Best Sailboats, featured a large advertisement on the Beneteau First 42. “We knew this would be the boat. We saw the boat in the marina and inquired if it was for sale, which it was…” And the rest was history. Continue reading “From Sky to Sea to Shining Sea: Meet Ron Coalson” »

What makes Sense a unique sailing concept?

What makes Sense a unique sailing concept?

With its new Sense line of cruising sailboats, ranging from 43 to 55 feet, Beneteau sets out to provide the best bluewater cruiser for families; a common-sense liveaboard that is completely unique in the layout of its accommodations, the openness of its cockpit and the comfort of its living spaces.

Each of the Sense features was designed to enhance comfort and maximize enjoyment on the water for everyone aboard.

Cabins

The Sense concept blends the comfort of a multihull with the aesthetic of a monohull, with all of the cabins situated forward – in fact, they are more akin to little apartments with incomparable headroom and full size berths, each paired with its own en-suite head. This layout offers the most privacy between sleeping quarters and the cockpit.

With fewer but better appointed cabins, the Sense becomes ideal for families longing for offshore cruising. For many Sense owners, the office or bunk beds configuration are popular options.

Salon and galley

The salon of the Sense is unlike any other sailboat, with an open floorplan that has now become a new standard for kitchens at home. In the Sense 50 for example, the galley runs alongside the entire starboard side of the salon, offering 13ft of continuous working space, plus an island which offers yet more counter space for food prep and entertaining. The full size galley of the Sense is in many ways ideal for liveaboard cruisers since it is fully open to the salon, thus creating the most favorable space for gatherings – from sharing meals to studying, relaxing and watching TV.
